In our most recent webcast, Toby Bottorf, Whitespace Innovation Lead and Head of Innovation, Engagement for EPAM Continuum, shared tips for successfully building a business case while designing a value proposition. Alex Slawsby, InnoLead’s Chief Growth Officer, hosted the webcast.
Bottorf served up insights on why internal priority is important relative to desirability, feasibility, and viability; shared advice on validating demand through quantitative and qualitative methods; and discussed how business thinking and design thinking work together at different stages.
“The value of an idea depends on its appeal to a buyer,” he said. “Sometimes there’s only one buyer in your organization. If they don’t want your idea, it can be really hard to figure out where it’s going. The lesson that I’ve learned from [that] is, even though I start from the perspective of desirability, I behave in projects like I’m in a B2B2C model, and that first B2B is for an internal investor, buyer, or operator.”
Throughout the remainder of the webinar, Bottorf details how to position ideas so that they gain traction internally.
