As always, many of the session topics for our Silicon Valley Field Study will be suggested by participants. When you register, we ask you what issues you’re grappling with, and build sessions around that; once we’re on-site, you’re invited to lead, co-lead, or contribute to discussions on those topics.

Our site visits at this Field Study will include:

    • We’ll be spending a half-day at Google, going through some of the same innovation and collaboration exercises that new hires at Google go through — at the famed Googleplex in Mountain View. (Play video at right to learn about the workspace we’ll be in, the Google Garage.)

    • Adobe, $1 billion software company transitioning from packaged products to the cloud, and creator of the Kickbox innovation program. (We wrote about Kickbox in 2014.)

    • Ford Silicon Valley Lab, opened in 2012. (We covered its recent expansion in 2015.)

    • Vodafone Global Enterprise’s recently-opened Innovation Studio in Redwood City, part of the $61 billion telecom and IT services provider. (Shannon Lucas of Vodafone wrote a recent piece on building a network of innovation champions.)

    • Michael Pao, an entrepreneur-in-residence at the venture capital firm Greylock Partners, and previously a senior executive on the growth team at Uber

    • Shannon Lucas (right), Director of Innovation at Vodafone Global Enterprise, on co-creating with customers

    • Dennis McGrath, Starbucks’ VP of Global Operations Innovation, on scaling successful pilots

    • Google’s Jeff Moore on attracting the best talent

    • Mark Randall, Adobe’s Chief Strategist and VP of Creativity, on catalyzing grassroots innovation that really moves the needle
