Boeing Internal Innovation Communications

How do you effectively communicate innovations to an employee base that spans 170,000 employees in 65 countries around the world? At Boeing, the answer lies in an internal innovation newsletter called “Innovation Quarterly.” We got our hands on a copy, and even though the document is from 2017, it provides a good example of the ways companies disseminate innovations internally. Not only does the 23-page glossy magazine highlight recent R&D breakthroughs and patent filings, but it highlights the people and processes used internally to develop innovations, from their “synthesis of lean and design thinking,” to specific breakthroughs at company projects in Kenya, Korea, and elsewhere.
